11th October News - Yesterday, the head coach of the Taishan U17 team, Zhou Haibin, posted a video on social media which was seen as a response to Dong Lu's criticism. Today, Dong Lu responded with a series of Weibo posts directly targeting Zhou Haibin.

In his posts, Dong Lu wrote:

[First post] Backed by domestic professional clubs, selected at the national level, starting specialized training at eight or nine years old, funded by state-owned enterprises, no worries about facilities, no worries about training partners... I've said it before, it's not that you're great, it's that your backing is great. If you don't agree, why don't you try setting up a youth training program yourself?

The sense of superiority you're displaying is really laughable. The current state of Chinese football is the result of the so-called "professionals" like you doing their so-called "professional" work, isn't it? You usually dominate at home, but when you go out, you lose five games in a row! If it were me, I would have found a hole to hide in. Why are you jumping around everywhere? [Second post] You dare to say that you won the youth championship using your "player development approach"? Let's not even talk about the powerful backing you have, what approach did you use when your team lost five games in a row in Korea?

If it was also the "player development approach", after two years, did you "develop" players who could lose 1:5 to a Korean high school team?

So, I'm saying this is not about a dispute in football philosophy, but a difference in basic logic and culture.

[Third post] When you compare a domestically top-rated football school armed to the teeth with the troubles facing campus football at that time, you've already lost.

To be honest, your football school has won countless domestic championships over the years, but your championships are not worth much. You dominate the domestic league but when you go abroad, you fall apart. Isn't that worthy of reflection? Can a simple phrase of "I am developing players" explain five consecutive losses? Could it be that even though you're developing 17-year-old players, you can still lose 1:5 to a Korean high school team? Then Chinese football truly is hopeless.

Previously, Zhou Haibin responded to netizens by saying, "I wouldn't choose to park the bus in a youth warm-up game just to boost my coaching resume and ruin the players."

In response, Dong Lu said, "In last year's 'Manuel Cup' final, the 9-year-old Spanish team played against the 9-year-old Barcelona team.
